The bend figure conflicted: this branch re-exported it from Illustrator with the metadata #242 had just stripped on main. Kept the new figure, cruft removed the same way. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com>

The figures, generated with Illustrator, had a lot of Adobe specific data that did not affect what was displayed but could cause the figures not to render with some renderers. This PR removes the "cruft" which has the added benefit of greatly reducing the file sizes.
