Terragrunt Navigator

VS Code extension that makes source and config_path paths in Terragrunt HCL files Ctrl+Click navigable.

Features

• Resolves ${get_repo_root()} to the actual git repository root
• Handles Terragrunt's // double-slash convention
• Navigates config_path in dependency blocks to the target terragrunt.hcl
• Navigates find_in_parent_folders("filename") to the resolved parent file
• Resolves dynamic interpolations (e.g. ${local.*}) via terragrunt render --json on click
• Caches render results with hash-based invalidation — repeated clicks are near-instant
• Skips remote sources (git::, s3::, https://, etc.)
• Ignores commented-out lines

Ctrl+Click runs terragrunt render --json to resolve the interpolations, then navigates to the resolved terragrunt.hcl.

Ctrl+Click on path_vars.hcl navigates to the file found by searching parent directories.

Configuration

Setting	Type	Default	Description
terragruntNavigator.renderTimeout	number	10000	Timeout in milliseconds for terragrunt render --json. Minimum: 1000.
terragruntNavigator.backgroundResolution	boolean	true	Pre-resolve dynamic interpolations in the background when a file is opened. When disabled, interpolations are only resolved on click.
