MRIQC is a shiny app that allows users to quality control body composition data generated with the EchoMRI-100H system. It visualizes the relationship between lean mass, fat mass, and total body weight, and lets the user see a data set falls within the “normal” range, or represents outliers.
The software takes xlsx files exported from the EchoMRI software. If other support formats are desired, please email at mailto:dall@sund.ku.dk and I will see what can be done.
Uploaded data can be displayed against data obtained at the NNF Center for Basic Metabolic Research (currently 300+ data points) or from the Cambridge Institute of Metabolic Science (3000+ data points). Data files are not uploaded to github, but can be shared upon request. We encourage users to fork and modify the code to use their own data as background, for a more representative distribution.
Please note that for proper functionality, we require you to enter body weight for each scanned animal. This is considered best practice, and if this information is absent, it is difficult to assess data fidelity.
Consider the fat mass distribution in this cohort
In isolation data may look
reasonable, but plotted against the background data, it becomes apparent
this cohort have low fat mass compared to the background population.
This may represent biology, but could also represent difficulties with
the machine.
