I've had stable HDMI detection and output for several kernel releases now on pipewire 1.4.x. Since about Linux v7.0.4, there has been regressions and the detection gets messed up. In GNOME Sound Settings, the HDMI output shows up, but I cannot select it. Or when I do select it, it is not properly detected. For example, I just rebooted the laptop and now detection looks like this:
~ $ aplay -l

In Audacity, I can manually select the output and get sound:
This is the same laptop as #5780 #5795 #5422 #5390 #5212 #5213
