Description of the issue(s)

Section V of the Region Change guide begins with this instruction in a grey box:

If the script found no user tickets, continue to the next section.

If no user tickets are found (for instance, if the region change is being done on a factory reset 3DS) and the user skips the rest of Section V as instructed by that grey-box text, faketik (Section V, step 9) is never run.

Not running faketik leads to this problem with the new CloudPoint homebrew: dwalker109/cloudpoint#101

Running faketik at this point generates two tickets even though no user tickets were found by the script. From memory (may be mistaken) I believe they were for some of the homebrew apps installed by the main CFW guide, Anemone and FBI. Once these two tickets are generated CloudPoint works normally.

It may be possible for homebrew authors to work around the state the system is left in if faketik is never run, but it seems preferable to leave the system in a better state, with tickets for all installed titles.

I recommend changing the Region Change guide to no longer invite completely skipping Section V if no user tickets are found. Replacing:

If the script found no user tickets, continue to the next section.

With:

If the script found no user tickets, skip to Step 8 of this section to run faketik.

Should do it.

No user tickets found in script is different from no tickets to install in fbi though.
When the script says no user tickets, it mean you literally have no app, like even fbi and hbl, which is actually uncommon

Hi! Chiming in because I made Cloudpoint, which surfaced this.

I've made some changes there which I think should prevent this from occurring. Essentially, I was previously panicking when unable to open a title SMDH (which isn't something I'd ever had happen on my dev consoles so assumed was impossible). I've made a change in an upcoming version to skip titles like that instead.

Where the "correctness" lies here I really don't know. I think on my side, skipping titles it can't open is clearly the right thing to do (they aren't actually usable and are probably noise). I think the change proposed here in the docs though is clean and worth doing, since there may be other side effects which skipping the section entirely can cause.

Sure, but we could make a fork of faketik called ctrtransfer_finalize or something no? Better yet, can't GodMode9 install tickets? If we can do that with lua, can't we replicate faketik's functionality within the ctrtransfer script?

Automating this part of the region transfer process as part of the ctrtransfer script would be an excellent solution. It does sound like it would take some doing.

In the meantime, I'd gently suggest updating the documentation to avoid having others' systems ending up in a bad state. Not as good a fix, to be sure. But a good stopgap?

Sorry this took so long! For now, I've roughly changed the text as you've suggested (technically it should be Step 9, since people are already in HBL at that point and people don't really need to open FBI). 3b610a6

I will keep this open until we have a proper non-stopgap solution

@lilyuwuu Thanks so much! I've reviewed your change and it looks good to me. If I had followed the region change guide as it is now I would not have ended up with the problem documented above.
