Open source nonprofits often struggle to get end-to-end projects across the finish line. Complex work that requires coordination like building a new feature, redesigning a workflow, or migrating infrastructure stalls because there's limited resources to carry it through. Maintainers at mission-driven organizations are already stretched thin, and without sustained, skilled support, high-impact projects sit incomplete in the backlog. GitHub is launching the For Good First Issue Project Pods as a collaborative space where open source for good projects can connect with groups to work together on large projects.

In this session, you'll learn:

• How Project Pods works from submitting a project to matching with volunteer teams
• How to prepare your repo and issues so volunteers can start contributing quickly
• How to get listed on the Project Pods page
• What makes a great Pod project and how to scope one
