TagStudio Version
Alpha 9.6.1
Operating System & Version
Microsoft Windows 10 Pro, 10.0.19045 Build 19045
Description
When creating a new tag through either the Edit->Manage Tags->Create tag menu, or through searching for a tag and clicking "Create & Add", issues arise when creating a new parent tag by clicking the the + Button in the Parent Tags section, searching for a not yet existing tag, and clicking "Create & Add".
If no aliases are specified and the modal is immediately saved and closed, this new parent tag is successfully added to the original new tag. But if any amount of aliases are added to the parent tag, not only do these aliases not save, but the parent tag is also not automatically added to the original tag when the modal is saved and closed.
A similar sounding, but different bug was fixed a while ago, maybe it has relevant info:
#759
Expected Behavior
Any kind of information created through recursive tag creation should be saved properly and new parent tags should always be attached automatically.
Steps to Reproduce
- Open Edit->Manage Tags->Create tag
- Click the + button in the Parent Tags section
- Enter any new tag name, like "NewParentTestTag" and click "Create & Add"
- Click the + button in the Aliases section and enter anything
- Click Save on the modal
-> You are returned to the "Add Tags" modal, not to the original tag yet. The new tag is not listed until search query refreshed.
- Without searching for and selecting the created parent tag, click Done
-> Parent tag has not been automatically added to this tag
- Cancel or Save the creation of this tag and return to the Library Tags modal
- Search for the parent tag, "NewParentTestTag" and open it
-> No aliases were saved
