Currently the contour feature has no way to really control the maximum cut depth and ensure it remains within the machines abilities.
The best work-around is to do multiple contours with progressively higher leave-stock allowances. A much better approach would be an option to specify maximum cut depth, and then automatically generate multiple passes to get to the leave-stock value without ever cutting more than maximum cut-depth.
(I just had a project fail because even though I split the rough-contour into two parts the first one still tried to cut so deep that my CNC couldn’t manage it). I know this is a more complex feature to implement but it would make the contour feature work much better and on-par with commercial tools.
